I based the text (typefaces and layout) on pre-1950's, Class 1-3 firecracker packaging.
I was too lazy to look all the way to 1980's firecracker packaging, so I guess that's why there's no Helvetica being stretched beyond it's balanced proportion on this poster.
But if I ever do a dry cleaning/mini-mart poster, I'll stretch the fuxx outta some Impact.
I'm SOOOO disappointed in you Richie. You were supposed to lose your mind over the Decemberists poster.
You let me down. Now I'm off to make Nick Butcher watch Strange Brew. He's never seen it. Discuss...
i think it's okay to do what you want, but it's lazy when you let the computer do it for you. I think type shows that more. There's a conceptual difference with art. reappropriation...and all that.
to me, all things subjective there's still good and bad, right? Cooking, Comedy...it's all opinion, but some shit just stinks.
uptight? you're the ONLY one ranting and raving...two clear definitive and also i might add BORING signs of up-tight-ed-ness.
It reeks of jealousy, or some crazy poster based inferiority complex...
America's Roast Beef? Yes Sir!
I think you read it like that. I was joking when I insulted Peveto. I'm always joking when I insult Peveto. I like Peveto. This is how we operate.
I'm only talking about this whole fucking type thing again...with him...to push his buttons. You don't think it's slightly over the top?
You're the dumbass that thinks you're jumping in here to protect Peveto and tell me off.
There's not a situation here.
I don't feel a single one of my opinions has been disproved so thats your opinion.
Just because the graphic design peanut gallery all chimne in doesn't mean I wrong. Doesn't mean I'm right either.
You fucks are too fucking uptight.
I called Peveto an Art Director to be nice. I tried to give him a little credit. We all know he doesn't really do jack shit on any of these posters other than pick out a lyric and print them in a dress for extra sissification.
this was a colab with bobby dixon. he made that sweet sweet type. then spent all day struggling through the print with me. the rainbow split was bitch and the transparent white had to be hit twice to look right.
this is a pic of the print though so it looks like this.
do they still make zebras? They were the weaker, firecrackers up against Black Cats, something you'd settle for as they were often cheaper. The Stones are kind of a weaker bigger bang these days.
Hard to believe that this was their first show in Austin ever.
