crosshair - thanks for the good words! wes and i consider the stones throw guys to be huge names in our book, but we were just stoked on the concept we came up with and wanted to make it as crazy as possible. your posters are incredible by the way.
letta - the burlesquicopter will hover patiently above your classroom until you're ready to come over. just climb aboard, pop some champeezy, and enjoy the ride!
You know what I love about you people?
You don't play favorites with fame & stature, at all.
You bust your asses just as much on posters for relative unknowns, as you do on a poster for big names. Often, more.
And that rules.
steve - yes, scanning this in took several hours, but the real pain was all the photoshop retracing. no wacom tablet was used at all. just the 5pt circle brush in photoshop. ouch.
letta - the burlesquicopter will be picking you up from work at 5pm to bring you to the studio!
When I was dropping off my artwork for that show I saw the beginging stages of this in pencil on giant piece fo graph paper on a drawing table. Was it a total pain in the ass to scan it and reassemble it on the computer?
I asked them about doing a poster for a show, they were like "no thanks, we have a killer tour poster already!" I thought, "ok, whatever"
THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING!!! SUPERFANTASTIC JOB ON THESE, I NEED THIS!!!
we'll put up a classified when the tour's all toured out, but for now, they live quietly in our studio, biding their time. kinda like serial killers, if you think about it. but don't, cuz that's creepy.
thanks for the good words folks! wezz and i (mike) did this one. all drawn by hand and then re-traced with the photoshop brush tool and photoshoppedly colored in. the palm of my hand was just about formed into the shape of a mouse by the end of it. we have a bunch of process sketches i wanna scan in and post up, so that may possibly happen at some point.
catch this one on tour in chicago, la, or nyc (or last week in san francisco), or through us once the chrome chitlins tour wraps up. tour dates can be found at stonesthrow.com
