electr.Send electr. a message :   totally second that, dan. but sadly, a discussion I have with marketing jocks every second day.   2007-01-18 11:31:31
crosshairSend crosshair a message :   I completely appreciate the difficulty of the assignment, and of course you did the best possible work under the clients requirements. The image is beautifully done as usual.
But I have to wonder what the point is (from the perspective of the organizers and sponsors,) of this poster even existing. The logo-ing is so dominant that this ceases to be anything but a cingular/vans/samsung ad. Is it supposed to promote the tour? If they toned down the logos, and emphasized the event more, would it become useless to them? Does this kind of advertising (the poster, not the tour) allow cingular to reach some demographic they would otherwise miss? Is it supposed to make the sponors seem cool, by co-opting the concert poster form for a print ad?

EwingSend Ewing a message :   That he is... Last year they wrapped a van/bus with the artwork I did. They're doing it again this year. I thought it would be fun to draw the robot about to toss it at people.   2006-06-22 12:40:47
Causley ConceptsSend Causley Concepts a message :   i think blake the snake hit the nail on the head.
love how the robot is getting ready to obliterate the cingular van.

EwingSend Ewing a message :   I don't see the warped tour as being 'punk' anymore. That's why it's the most successful summer tour every year. And they pay pretty well.   2006-06-21 13:06:07
evad sullivanSend evad sullivan a message :   cingular and samsung are so punx!
sweet poster though. i like robots, especially giant ones.

blake the snakeSend blake the snake a message :   seriously a great job of handing the massive amount of information.
its always a challenge to incorporate the frankenstein mishmash of corporate logos that do not go with the design. i think this really works well!
plus... it has the underlying theme of freakin' robots destroying large companies. im a fan.
you earn a
*dig!
