That Print Mafia poster is totally amazing!!!! It's my favorite thing I've seen of theirs. Even in b/w is it totally hot hot hot. Can't wait to see the colour version. Yes.
This one... to me just seems like a collection of cliches that doesn't quite gel as a whole...

What promoter? Stanton? We dealt with Stanton directly. We have talked with him for weeks before and he gave us personal images to use for our poster. He sent it out over his myspace page to all his connections and asked that it be reposted. He has expressed his gratitude and how much he liked our work thru email and in person. We were asked to keep in touch for future projects. We were actually at the event. The fucking thing was enlarged in full color to 3 x 4 ft. by them and mounted on foam board and displayed prominently in the entry way of the venue. We attended this show at Stanton's request.
There was 1 flyer done before we got involved and then 2 more done after your 2. All were present at the show and were used online to promote. Maybe those last 2 replaced yours. We don't know for sure so therefore we won't go online and speculate and call into questions others work and relationships when we don't know positively what the fuck we're talking about.
We don't get into much shit and usually play nice. We're tired of it. Fuck You.

honestly. i could think of 10 valid reasons why its a bad design.. bad layout.. bad typography...
poor palate of colors... clumsy execution...
i could be more specific, but YOU are the designer.. so, figure it out.
also, the reason people are talking about it, is because it sucks. not cause it caused some sort of earthquake in the design community.
tell me to fuck off or whatever. you wanted me to elaborate.. hope this helps.

If DANZIG is the HEADLINER... why does the poster say"with special guest performances by GLEN DANZIG"?
At first I thought this advertised a band called "666"and if not, Hank III and Assjack are the headliners. Or so it would seem from the listing on the poster.
The art is so-so. Doesn't really blow my skirt up.

Definitely think that the most important part of the posting is adding all the bands to the listing.
I mean forget that this is a brilliantly designed piece of art with amazing illustration and well thought out composition. Disregard all of that because band names aren't listed.
There are 18 comments on this poster and very few are actually about the poster. That is ridiculous.

it seems to me that an artist would want as many bands as possible listed on here as all the cross referencing on somthing like this just makes it like five times more likely someone would see their stuff.
