Well Robert, I'm glad you asked. It seems a short film 'The Towers' was made in 1957 which examined the strange and beautiful Watts Towers in LA's south-central. In this movie, a haunting 4 notes were repeated to create an otherworldly atmosphere to the score by Thomas Cutkomp. In another part of town a couple years later, Rod Serling was making some changes to the second season of 'The Twilight Zone.' He hired the Romanian Marius Constant to redo the opening theme and what do you know... Those same eerie 4 notes repeated setting the mood and becoming possibly the most often referenced theme music in history... STOLEN!
