jcooperSend jcooper a message :   hi......thanks for the comments......to address the issue of the poster matching the bands, no, i couldn't think of a way to make one image that would fit 6 different bands so i intentionally created an homage to the old school poster/lettering.......i wasn't looking at anything in particular, i just winged it......apparently it looks like a lot of other people! mmmmmmmm, mcdonald's...........   2006-03-30 19:04:52

Nicholas M MacMillanSend Nicholas M MacMillan a message :   Sometimes I see posters done in this sort-of art-nouveau/60's psych style and wonder if it has anything at all to do with the sound of the bands. Like, the aesthetic is totally such a part of the *poster-making* vocabulary that it gets used without thinking if it actually suits the *music*. Like when Wes Wilson or whoever was doing stuff like this it connected with the aesthetic of the bands and the subculture they came from. Is that going on here? Or is it just refrencing rock-poster-history? Does that make sense?
That being said, I have NO IDEA what these bands sound like. It could fit them perfect for all I know. It's just a question that comes to mind every time I see stuff in this style.
