this really is good. but ... i don't know if dale flattum was the first to do this or not, but it still really reminds me of his old mastodon mask flyer. even though he spelled mastodon wrong on the gigposters submission form, so it doesn't show up if you search for mastodon. come on dale, you didn't think i'd catch your spelling errors? i've got a journalism degree, and i have to use it every once in a while. http://www.gigposters.com/posters.php?poster=16059
when i started working on the illustration, i thought "hell, i can just leave his name off!" then i chickened out (no pun intended) and thought it was kinda crazy to leave it off. when i showed the illo to Thomas that was his first reaction--leave his name off. so, i figured it if was his first thought, too, i should just do it. thanks, T.
so awesome, i never even noticed the name wasn't on there. shows how effective this design/concept is because the imagery is so closely asociated with the person.
