I really dig this... I can just imagine being a 15-year-old girl in math class, doodling on my homework and writing my favorite band's name over and over. This works so well as a Weezer poster since a lot of their fans are 15 year old girls (who most likely hate math). I'm sure my dad will be asking you for one of these posters, Joel (my brother is in the band).

actually,i do agree with (and forgive me for goin back on this when i declared this one had been sorted out!) melbot on this one,in that it could easily be done by a seven year old,imagine if you were a promotor and a kid came along and asked if u could use this drawing he'd done for a weezer concert.hmmmm,what would the promotor say?

ok. i'm one of thoes "concept" guys and i love joel's work. this isn't one of my favorites he has posted here. it's not as conceptually tight as some of his others, but i still like it. although, i think this appeared in one of those "high-brow" design annuals so many of you bitch about; like communication arts or graphis. anyway, it is primitivism. or outsider art. folk art. whatever you wanna call it. look at his other stuff. his poster of the week entry that's up right now. great stuff!
and actually, given weezer's whole high-schoolish, geek rock vibe, this IS appropriate for them.

to be honest,i havent seen any of chantrys work,i understand his work is cool though and i'd love to see it,he's entitled to his opinion but he just gets rude with people,theres no need.anyway,i don't wanna get back into the whys and wherefores of art chantry,i have no bad feeling toward the guy,just wish he'd brush up on his social demeanour thats all.

yea,i mean theres room for all sorts of posters,infinity an all that,but the last time i commented on a poster lookin like a kids drawing it started an argument back and forth over concept,maybe its SUPPOSED to look like a kids drawing;that may be so but my point was that it STILL looked like a kids drawing,anyway,i'm slipping back into debate mode now!its too early in the afternoon,i haven't long got up and yea....
