balance* i think dv8r is slamming the promoters ( or possibly the band), not you. this is a great poster. congrats. for years i've tried to do a 'non-reggae reggae poster' ( no lions, no dancing dreadlock man ) and have allways come up short. you succeeded. very nice. |

dv8r - saga me this: when i ask square peg concets specifically "should the poster read 'the wailers' or 'bob marley's wailers'" and they reply with the later, what do you do? It's their show, let them bill it how they want and take any wrap for it. |

i think it's a typo. it's supposed to be " jacob marley's wailers". it's an all reggae revue of 'a christmas carol'. pretty good. caught it with the little lady over the hollidays. |

uh, "Bob Marley's Wailers"...is he renting the bus?
cuz that could cause a legal BrouHaHa ...saga me this...
We all know Bob kicked the bucket in 81...
So Let's see uh, Bunny Wailer is the only O.G living Wailer left alive from the 1960's and isn't on this tour. He quit touring with Bob in the mid 70's when he refused to travel by "Iron Bird". The other original "Wailing Wailers" Peter Tosh and Junior Braithwaite were killed by gunmen in the 80's.
Carlton Barret a key member of Bob's 70's touring rhythm section was also shot by gunmen, purportedly hired by his wife in the late 80's...
As for the Wailers, I guess that leaves us Carlton's bro Aston "Family Man" Barrett on bass who was the drummer. He still legally tours under the name THE WAILERS, although he's also sued the Marley Estate & Universal/Island over back royalties, and his pic was taken off Bob's "OFFICIAL" website like a persona "NON GRATA"...The other pedigreed musicians joining Aston on these Wailers events are likely Earl "Wire" Lindo who joined Bob's band in 72, and also is on keyboards and guitarist Al Anderson, the only American Wailer, who played with Bob from 73-77 ( Natty Dread, Babylon By Bus LPs, and then had a feud with Bob's mgmt and played only occasional gigs after that... |
