I'm actually not a great fan of Oasis, just went to check them out and it was pretty cool. I had no probs with Kathleen's comments, in fact her input (and work) is some of my favourites on this site. The prob was with Steve's initial comment, but if he can assure it was 100% towards the band and not the slightest towards the artist then that's fine. Otherwise it's a cheap shot.
Oasis sucks the baloney pole. There, I spelled it out so it can't be misconstrued.
On a completely different note, nice poster. I'm not usually into posters that include band likenesses, but you did a great job on this one.
maybe you should calm down too and hear what was implied..no ones having a bubble about the artist ripping anyone off..it was just an observation made because oasis are notorious at plaigerism..its a good poster and no ones slagging the artist off..theyre commenting on the band and their continual habit of sounding like somebody else.
gee...it would be a shame for an artist to rip off someone.... c'mon people!!! u cant say just because something looks similar that it is a "rip off" thats close minded bullshit...everyone uses someone elses elements/composition/colors/style sooner or later...so everyone just calm down on the "rip off" talk....
Yeah, dude, no one's saying Tom ripped anyone off. I think the artwork's great, but I just noticed the resemblance of the cartoon Oasis to the characters in the Gorillaz. And since Oasis is, by nature, not a very original band, it's kind of a very subtle, possibly unintended, stroke of genius to make even their cartoon likenesses derivative of someone else. Although, now that I look even closer, I see that dude from Supergrass snuck into this portrait on the far left.
its similar in style to the gorrilaz stuff by jamie hewlett..kathleen turner see's the point..either way, ive never seen a band who plaigerise other bands as much as oasis, thats just a fact wether i, or you, like em or not.
Bull shit this rips anyone! This poster is great in the pulp and the colours pop like crazy.
The show was great as well, biggest crowd sing-a-long I have ever heard.
Just a pity about the torrential rain afterwards which soaked everyone to the bone. Great poster.
Steve H "they can't even get postered without ripping someone off" I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean, who's being ripped off?
The artists who created this "Tom Cleaves" is from Australia & does work for Beyond The Pale Posters. We dont rip of anyones designs. The band were very happy with it. John Harris Beyond The Pale Posters Melbourne OZ.
