absolutely great gimmick! even though i've seen it done before many times, i've never seen it done as well as this. a good gimmick is worth a thousand words.
mad props to this poster...really done well... emek is so detail oriented it scary... plus to do a pop culture poster. even more of a great concept...but then again im an emek fanboy!
I may have missed all but about .001% of other people's work. Including the "names". I'm not very well versed in Warhol and so many more. I guess I just meant that this is a really cool idea to me and I like the way it turned out. It was a compliment to Emek whose work I admire but don't usually want to own. I would enjoy this one. It's lighthearted and "new" to me.
I do agree about the gradient though, but hey, nobody's perfect.
nice idea and pretty good execution with the drawing. didnt' want my last post to seem like a total knock so that I'd get railed by a lot of folks on here
innovative for a poster...? okay sure, but warhol did the whole coloring book thing wayyy back and many others have since him. The idea is cool, but I think flat tones of screenprinting ink would have served this better than all the gradiated color coz it woulda fit with the child-like simplistic sunbject matter (no not the strokes simpleton-marketed music, the coloring book!) a little better, but that's me being nitpicky! hate me! all of you!
I thought so too. Kind of un Emek like, and I like that, even though I like Emek's posters. What happened though? Did the manufacturer of the Paint by Number not include paints so the kid had to use crayons?
