concept: cool use of popular xmas imagery. but why? because it's a december show. ok, makes sense. but it could be any band in the world and still be abaut as appropriate as the pink swords - who actually have a nasty imagery style that has been consistantly done on most of their posters. dunno, ends up feeling like a generic concept applied to anything. score: 15
craft - great cartoon style drawing. the basic framework of the overall design is so primitive it's almost a beginner look. the typography is dreadful in selection and placement ("let's covver the whole thing with this generic punky cool compuyter type"). absolutley no imagination or typography or even lettering knowledge there. the colors are "cool" 9hey, it's a snowman, diude), so ok, i'll give credit there. the printing quality seems to be so clean that i wonder how this was reproduced. i'm guessing a laserjet? so, absolutley zero technical printing savvy needed here. if it were silkscreend or even offset, it would be tougher to do. so for over design/execution/craft: 20 (largely for the illustration)
total: 35.
Thanks. It's too bad Bruce never got to make a drag queen kung fu flick. Check back at the site in a couple of weeks and look at the cover art for the new cd. Cheers
"All Age show" sounded right to me at the time, and I still didn't recognize it as a mistake even after one of the Swords pointed it out. I must admit it does seem pretty glaring now.
Thanks for the Poster of the Week honor. I appreciate the recognition especially since I submitted with so many other kickass posters.
This may be an 'all age show'..but I ain't showin' this poster to my neice..heaven forbid..those eyes alone..demented maniac versus pleading imploring cutie-pie..will only result in tears..I protest..
