Those Peabodys fuckin' rock and so does this poster. This musta been an awesome show. Living in Austin we have the good fortune of getting our fair share of both of these bands.
Do your self a favour and go see Those Peabodys if they come anywhere near you. Part JSBX and part AC/DC. All ROCK.
And as far as posting most of the time our stuff is the digital file. But we are really pretty damn good about mixing ink and don't miss too often. Jeff we may have to talk trade about thisin' Bee-yooty...
Well, having seen the show, the knocked-down chair is a great image. Don't if the band ALWAYS knocks down all their equipment like they did tonite. What a great band. And great job, Jeff.
nolen, i've done it both ways. i have a couple posted here that i had to scan. those actually came out looking less like the real posters than the photoshop files i've posted.
colors will never match from screen to print or print to screen.
and the only way to see what it really looks like to look at the actual print. philarts goes on about that a lot. and it's very true.
i would think either way you arent translating the actual piece, im sure unless your system is calibrated perfectly there is color shift from real art to digital camara to file. or from art to camara to scanner to file. and even if it was calibrated perfectly my machine is gonna show me something completely different.
i guess I'm at a disadvantage here coz I almost never make stuff on the computer...and scanning in all the pieces and coloring it would be a nightmare. I understand the reasoning for making the photoshop files, it does look better on screen, since it's made for screen viewing, and I have no beef with doing it that way. But there's part of me that just wants to see how the screen took the image and how it really came out. ALso, the colors you may make on screen, unless you're a master ink-mixer (ha, imagine that occupation), it seems like wouldn't ever match what color you actually print. Again, this is me and my stupid traditionalist views I guess...but like I said, I have no problem with posting the files, I just think it would be nice to see how some of these really came out.
Honestly, that's half the reason more of my 50 some odd posters aren't on here yet, is coz taking pics of them is a hassle. I have slides taken of about 10 or 12 and access to a slide scanner, I just keep forgetting...maybe I should just borrow someone's digital camera already.
anyway...i totally understand why people post files, but it would be nice to occasionally see the real deal, that's all I'm saying, coz it is a totally different experience.
Directed to Nolan's comment: For internet use it's best to use your original file or scan your painting/drawing then post. There's that guy who churns out all the crazy little cartoony characters and the work is amazing but you can tell it's a snapshot of the poster with kinda bad lighting etc... if he works at a big size it's probably a hassle both financially and time wise to make big scans just to post. Do your art a favor a post the cleanest you can get. whenever possible. Cheers!

so this isn't the real poster? just a jepg of the art you made for it? I always wondered how many peopleposted the actual poster and how many post just their art files for it. There's a big differnce a lot of times.
Oh yeah...fucking awesome poster. I love the type at teh top and the painted/jagged edge.
Aha! I knew this was Lure's. It really has that theater poster look going (no, I swear that's a compliment). Nice splattery way to capture Trail of Dead. Is this silk screened?
