i was at that show in norman with about 15 or 20 other people. it was pretty good, and anton didn't get pissed until the drummer stopped playing in the middle of the last song/jam. no fights, though
DiG turned me onto their music. I had never heard their music, I had only heard the name. I thought they were more hard rock, but when we saw the movie, I liked the music so I bought some of their stuff. If I didn't listen to music based on whether someone in the band was an egomaniac, my listening would be very limited.
i remember when they came to Denton years ago (around the time of the b&w footage of Ondi, the director of Dig, filming herself in the bar in Oklahoma that's on the DVD set) and all that most people knew of them was:
1. the name.
2. supposed to be really cool music but almost no one had heard it outside of Cali.
3. anton was a musical genius.
4. they break up DURING every show and kick each other's asses and then get up and finish their set.
i still wish i'd gone to that because i really do like the music, but i wouldn't go now because of the people wanting the fights and drama and will just fucking talk and talk.
these dudes in the photo are about the millionth line up. Anton who is BJM isn't in this pic. They sounded great last night when they were playing but too much dumb shit in between songs got boring so we split after he shoved one of the guitar players and went into a 15 min long jam.
It sold out days before and it was the same thing. all the numbnuts in the crowd talking about the movie. It's a shame because Anton is a pretty genius musician but all that completely distracts from what could have been a phenomenal show.
