Actually, it's a Frontside handplant. Clown ramp was big for its time. It went through some changes over the years, but this particular summer it was 24' wide, 10?? tall, 14" of vert(??). Jeff skated like a man! He made everything look small!
Jeff allways fuckin' killed it when he skated. He was so damn tall that he looked huge and his style was so smooth. It's cool that you used his trademark layback air for this. I remember reading about the Clown ramp in Thrasher. It was that big huge blue monster right?
Yes, that is the one and only Jeff Phillips. At the Clown Ramp in Dallas, 1986(?). That was a fun day! There were only about 7 of us skatin' that day. Jeff, as always, was rippin'!
Dude, I was the eggplant fuckin masta!! Actually they were weak, I was much better curb skater back when backside bonelesses were cool. I could also mangle ditches. I think this is JP on the ole clown aluminum ramp in Houston, Lindsey, can you give us a clue. Yeah, losing JP sucked, he and the other Texas guys were always so much more real and aggro, no disrepect to Hawk, Mountain and Cabellero. Future Primitive and the Search for Chin, great vids. Also the original Bones brigade video...shit I might have to go to the skate shop next door right now and buy em!
Come on Speed, you know you could never do Eggplants.... hehe... joking.
I think this image is of Jeff Phillips... man he was a ripper. wish he was still with us...
Am I sensing a comeback of some cool ole Thrasher skate-rock art? I might have to take a swing at it, but I'm gonna try to dig up some old pics of me at 15 doin eggplants, or grinding some old curb on my Lester Kasai!!!!!
