I see what you're saying, and you're probably right. I tried it in either corner, but it felt like the image as whole was funnelling the eye down towards the center (the foward movement of the stripes of the figure against the downward black of the rifle and hands).
Putting it centrally like this seemed to bring more attention to it, and I thought that would be best in the long run. However, another reason was I thought of the whole image, the area it's covering was the weakest and emptiest so I guess I was doing the designer equivalent of Rob Liefeld's little hills. I thought covering that area up made it stronger and also made the secondary tiger mouth (not the actual man's mouth) more subtle.
this is cool.. I like the type n stuff, but the whole thing feels slightly wack compositionally... the info circle is just a little too close to his mouth for my liking.. but still, I'd love to see one of these for real! (and the hank III one)
incredibly well done, dang. crazy creepy. like that scene in the Donald Sutherland version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, with the man-faced dog. :nauseatedshivers:
20X26 2 color on some fancy ass paper using metallic copper ink (like my Hank III and Arcade Fire posters).
Slater did the "Mission of Burma" text and came up with the black band behind it.
