I like the extra hand cradeling the baby. It makes you wonder whats going on outside of the visible frame and that's what is creating an interesting story and adding mystery.
i see fishers point.
i dig this, but rob is crazy talented, and can do unique things with his pen or whatever he draws with...
its his superhero skills.
what jones really needs is a huge paying job for strictly gay bands. he would clean up yo.
I remember you telling me about this one. Excellent. Shitloads better than the godawful one done for Stubb's....ugh...
It shoulda been you...it shoulda beeen yoooouuuuu!
Fish, will I ever make you happy again? Will we ever return to those carefree afternoons spent on the banks of the Danube? You eating your chicken salad with almonds, I smoking my red cigarettes. What a pair we once made, and what a pair we've become.
You once promised to make a country of my bones. I still don't know what you meant by that, but I feel certain it will be a promise unfulfilled.
I think it could work as an illustration if it was like really simplified. Maybe just silhouettes of the figures and baby. I don't think the line drawings that we know Rob for would work as well as this does because I associate so much humor with his drawings and I don't think they would fit the mood of this one.
I like the grit in the photos and I think it's a brilliant idea.
While I agree that his drawings are very unique and very good... I have to say that this poster is very RobJonesian.
If I had a list of like, 10 people, I would have picked Rob.
Please draw more stuff Mr Jones. Your work has more character when it is drawn.
While this is very nice and fits the band and all of that.... it could have been done by two dozen different people around here and nobody would know the difference.
SO. this weekend i watched "DIG" and the BEST part, except for the insane fights and rants of Anton newcombe, is the extra disc with the breastfeeding interview. You get to see nipple. it's nuts!
18X24 full bleed (no pun intended) on some blue tinged grey speckletone paper. 3 color with metallic inks (silver for the type and hand, and a rusty copper for the blood. I wanted it to look like it tastes).
