My first Kozik I purchased. GOt it for about $20 several years ago. I went to the New Orleans show and lost my wallet at the venue. It was a great wallet too. I was right at 20 yrs old, 1993. This poster is great in person and this picture (attn John A) really shows how jpegs utterly fail at displaying a poster’s true impact.

yeah John, you're right. nice photo indeed. i didn't realize i used one of yours till i checked again. you have a lot of great photos of stuff that's not on here. it would be great to see so much more added from the early 90's.

They WERE still good then but they were way better with the two drummers and the nude dancer(s). I may or may not have dropped much acid at many, many Butthole Surfers shows back in the day.

The Surfers still killed on this tour. Because of my age and location (Omaha) I unfortunately only caught the tail end of the greats. Same thing happened with Husker Du and the Replacements. The cool thing about that though, is that if the first Mats record you hear is Dont Tell A Soul and you love it, it only gets better going backward through their stuff. Same thing happened to me with the Surfers.

Wasnt this summer 93? The BBQ-Mitzvah Tour as I recall. It was pretty good. Hated STP. And I was pissed that Basehead canceled as opener. But we got Flaming Lips instead, and the world righted itself on its proper axle once more.

i was surprised too that this wasn't on here prior to me looking for it, so i submitted it. the Dallas show is the one where the mini-riot broke out at the old Bandshell in Fair Park due to rain causing a dangerous situation on stage, since it was outdoors, and the cops ended up using pepper spray/mace on people to control the troublemakers who were getting up on stage and breaking stuff and being assholes. the rain caused a delay and that's when people started talking about cancelling the show and people in the crowd got ancy. i think it was rescheduled, but now i can't remember for sure. i almost went to this show, but decided not to the day before.
