I think that was Mark Gruenwald, the ashes guy. He was like the resident "expert" of the "Marvel Universe." Greg, you did a great job with rapidographs of aping a brush's thickness at the middles of curves, bravo.

I love the illustration work on this as well, actually all the Reinal pieces posted on here are great. Solid drawing and design skills.
Also, I can't remember his name but I remember a few years back that one of the creators of the Squadron Supreme had it in his will to have his ashes mixed with the paper for The Squadron Supreme trade paperback. Ewwwwwww.....but cool at the same time. It would just suck for part of your body to end up in 10 cent comic bins across the nation.

Funny, I don't associate this so much with Coop. I guess 'cause I know Stainboy is a huge Pinup/Petty fan. Uses real models and what not. But I see what you mean by the layouts being similar. Reinel's chicks are hot though...

Whoa! He mixed his ink with blood? Coooooooooooool. As I recall that was the number one reason I bought the first kiss comics! Gene, Paul, Ace n' Peter donated blood to mix with the ink.

Thanks Charlie. No, at the time I didn't no how to use a brush but I wanted that look. I used el cheapo Uniballs and Rapidographs (eekk!). I've since been using a brush but It's a trick to get the hang of it. I'm gettin' more comfortable with it, though.

Jeepers creepers, this stuff is GREAT!!! Everybody below me spoke for me.. Excellent.. It's people like you that don't need color.. And as far as apeing COOP, in my opinion you ape him on the layout, especially with the text.. You seem to fill the space more and also seem to have more variety with your text style. Do you do your linework with a brush like Coop? I tried that and its a bitch.. he forced himself to work only with brushes when inking his work.. Painfull.. He also dripped blood in some of his ink..creepy.. use a clean knife that..

absolutley incredible iillustrations! Nice to see someone that likes coop but doesn't completely ape him. The lettering is also very good and nicely lais out. everyone take notice: line quality is job one!
