oh, and to clarify just why I like the way the font is used...esp. in the lower right corner, the blockiness of it emulates the mayan style of architecture, with all the large stone blocks, and the way the text is used to frame the image adds to the structural feel of the type placement. But it still has enough openness that it doens't feel like it's closing the image in, which is nice.
yeh gooch...your work was getting old to look at ...HA...no seriously, they did make a font I dont' normally like look good here, I have to agree with that
And is that "Fajita" for the font? If it is, kudos to the person who made this look good.
Oh, and thank god there are some new posters up on top! I was getting tired of my ol' stinky posters being up so long. Hee, hee. Lucky me.
I really like how this incorporates Spirit Caravan's lyrical references to southwestern american and mexican native cultures/religions. I've done several posters for some of their shows (including two tour posters), but I've mainly leaned towards the psychedelic stuff, and not so much like this. Great color choices, and the darkness fits their music... With my next one I may go more in this visual direction. I'm sure Wino loved this one.
