What I am saying is, you shouldnt have to be familiar with an artist's work, so that when you see a piece like this you say "oh, well I know he's capable of doing better than this, so this must be intentional and therefore brilliant"

I do want to go one record as saying that I really like a bunch of this artists other posters.
BUT, you shouldnt have to be familiar with someones work to like a piece. It shouldnt be a "coasting on built up cred" situation.
