Thanks Rhys!! interestingly, my original intent was to make this a series. I even had a story line sort of thought out. But when it comes to my poster work, because I like to take advantage of the fact that I can experiment with different styles and techniques...I sorta left it behind. Maybe I will now that you got me thinking about it again! :mrgreen:

Gink this is by far one of the most intersting and cool ways to present type and the concept of "gig details". I love it. Would be happy to see a series develop. Thanks! This had a very limited budget and very short run so I went Digital offset which has a max depth of 17" (if anyone knows a place that can do larger digital offset printing, please let me know). The size on this is 7.5" x 17", which makes the face pretty big. I inked the face with a Sakura Brush Pen at actual size and scanned in a piece of distressed newsprint for the background. I used Photoshop in multiply to apply the color for a somewhat transparent ink look. Probably more info than you needed Nolen but you caught me at a jabberin' moment. :)

Very creative way to bring in the show info. Nice illustration too. I agree with Nolan, Colors and 'newsprint' paper are a nice touch. Bold and Simple. great work!

even though I'm not a fan of these bands, I like the use of 'borrowed' comic book art and how the color stays true to the source. I also like that the type is fairly subtle...just curious as to how big this is.
