rev man... you sound like a mutt mix of everything cool :)
that is the best type of artist. i have found the artists with the most influences produce the best images...
ps, cant wait to get this poster in my hands :)
Jeezis! Influences... Well, I think most artists are influenced by most everything they come into contact with. Off the top of my head, I've always loved Ed Roth, Robert Williams, Crumb...Alot of the underground comics guys as well as people like Pizz, Coop, Kozik. I like alot of Gaither's stuff, Forbes is cool. I'm also influenced heavily by the look of the old 60's underground rock publications with their contrasting lines and shapes and colors. Ummm...Monster movies and Horror related imagery. Cracked and Mad magazine from the late 60's through to about 1983... I'm also a tattoo artist so I'm heavily influenced by that culture and the artists in it. As far as on this site, I dig Almera, Forbes, Jason Goad is really good!, Low Brow Ink, Print Mafia, Supercorn!, Jeff Woods at Drowning Creek Rules! and tons of others. There are several other artists that are REALLY great and I respect ALL of the artists on this site from the guys xeroxing pencil drawn flyers all the way up to the big boys.

Well thank you very much! That is truly high praise! I have seen Kuhn's work because of the Swampco ad that's always in Juxtapoz. I don't think I've been influenced by Kuhn, but the comparison is definitely a GREAT compliment!

i think the poster is great, i love seeing the "newer" artists blow away some of the big established artists... shows that theres great stuff out there, and each time a see something new that is really cool.. its like xmas am all over again!
the line art, just the lines.. remind me of lindsey kuhn.. which isnt a bad thing... and again, that is an observation from my own eyes.. not a knock on the poster... just has that taste to me..
i LOVE the poster :)
if you ever want to trade me for one, email me :)
Yes Philaarts, I wondered about the plunger, too! :)
Im also interested in which well-known artist you were thinking of when you said it reminded you of someones line work.
Very striking line work, indeed.
~che~ :)
Thanx for the comments folks! This one just got a very "special" comment. At the club the poster was advertising, someone wrote on it, in ballpoint pen... "This poster is in VERY bad taste!". That made me feel very warm and tingly. What well-known artist's line-work do you think this looks like phila? I wonder if they're someone who influenced me or if it's just coincidence.
