they would just be mad (they being the guy that is paying for the printing), thats right chloe, im not paying this time !! woohoo.
as a challenge, i will find a way to do it though, just for you frank.
stinky - yeah the new one, i really like it. a lot less poppy then the other one. BUT, the one idea i had for the poster was for that "pollen on your nose" song from the old album ... i was thinking a panda bear sniffin into a flower on a 9x24" ... i dunno, kinda bleh. i think maybe i will have to go a little more techie ...
chloe - right now, im having a really really BIG creative block thing happening for the poster that im (supposed to be) working on. its for Mirah on K records ... i dunno, ive listened to the cd everyday for a week, nothing there ...
. kev, if u ever wanna do a poster with lots of colors and can't afford it maybe we can work something out. esp if it's a band i really like or one that's popular with the skylab kids, then i could sell a few to cover the diffrence.. aor comming to yr town anytime soon?
email nme about it
i wish that i could afford to print shit with that much color. how does 4 color process work with screenprinting. i imagine it would be a pain to register well.
HUGE Jasper Johns fan. If I was a talented artist that's the kinda stuff I'd want to be doing. There's this painting he did where it's just a regular Jasper Johns painting but he put a little knob in bottom corner with no explanation. Turns out it's connected to an actual working radio. It's just there enticing people to turn it. When they do the radio plays. Brilliant. Breaks down the barrier between the viewer and the art and adds a new element to the piece itself.
This poster is really just a circus-style poster gone bad. That style's been done a bunch but I'm a sucker for it and this was my attempt at it while baked (1996).
The collage-y stuff at the bottom reminds me a lot of the work Charles Anderson has been doing lately. I see girls and fire, is the other art in the collage tied thematically in some way?
