dXSend dX a message :   this may look like it's been influenced by Charles Burns (not a bad hero to have), but it's not really. i've been drawing in this spikey razor style since way back in the mid to late seventies (it came from cutting rubylith!). way before i ever heard of or saw anything by C.Burns. and when i finally did see some stuff from him, i used to joke with my pals that Burns stole my style! really, lots of folks draw in this style, it's just that Burns is so good at it that the style has become identified as his! dont get me wrong, i love Burns' stuff! and i'm as influenced by his work as much as anyone! however this piece was not done with his stuff in mind! rather, i was trying to make it look as much like a greasy gorilla as i could! i was more influenced by the woodcut illustrations of years gone by, than by the fantastic works of Charles Burns! but thankx for noticing! yer pal, dX    2004-12-27 20:05:20
