i think that little doll is from a corbis royalty free cd which is why its so familiar looking, as for this being a 'fitting' slayer poster..... Eh no.
damn, all this talk, and I just don't like the poster that much...
were you kidding Maxflo about liking this?
and, I ate spicy chicken burritos today and shat red like this
I have said time and time again that I am not the judge nor am I the final word. I have said it over and over again.
I just have my opinions and don't really have any problem expressing them. Sorry if you have a problem with that. Maybe I should just kiss everybodys ass constantly?
i'm not trying to put words in your mouth, but i AM trying to instigate some new rules.
you are obviously the official metal qualifier here, and need to be reckognized as such. posters like this will continue to happen without your constant approval and guidance.
let's just streamline this shit.
But who is to say what "feels" like any band? This has a devil on it. That feels like Slayer to me. It is really all about education. Time to smarten these dumb metal kids up. They like good design... they just don't know it yet.
AND it has an official Slayer logo.
i still think that a poster should capture the "feel" of the bad. that doesn't mean it has to be obvious or stupid metal. this poster doesn't feel like slayer at all. this feels like a early 90's melvins poster, big difference. and why does that doll remind me of nirvana?
They played the Troc back in the Show No Mercy days, I think.
I put this tape together almost 10 (!) years ago:
Slayer: Do You Dig Older Women? cassette (1995), in the grand tradition of the Venom Live 7", here's the funniest on-stage banter of a couple-dozen Slayer shows, 1984-1987.
Best Slayer poster ever. I think at this point we have all learned that as long as the poster has at least something to do with the band ( that is a devil horn after all ) no matter how little, that anything is o.k. I mean metal kids need to be shown that not all design for metal bands or shows needs to be obvious or stupid metal imagry. I mean just how long can these kids be left in the dark about all of the design posibilites for metal posters? Are we really to leave these kids behind? I say no. We drag them kicking and screaming right into the pages of Com Arts! It is part of the " No Metalhead left Behind" program.
Are they really playing the Troc? seems like a small venue for them.
are you fucking kidding? this is for slayer? way not slayer and just because a doll has devil horns doesn't mean it should go on a slayer poster. really i don't think any doll should go on a slayer poster. this would be okay for something like the melvins or babes in toyland.
