My fingers are crossed that I make some sales this weekend so I can buy one of these beautiful, outrageous posters.
Rob Jones is making the new religious iconography of rock n' roll.
ZAP!!
i hope longtooth sees all the wonderful comments made about d&l. i'm sure he would blush. i'm SO proud to be the troll.
and once again, this poster rocks!
Plantweed,
It's Bowie. Brian Jones, Marianne Faithful, Bianca, and a Mars bar are the other hard to make out items in the jpeg.
GG,
I just looked at all 12 pages again. What a loose mess of shit.
I posted a actual picture of the poster in the GP classifieds. D&L did a classy job of mixing the colors.
Yeah Rob Rules.
Just look at the 12 pages of posters he has on here...
All good stuff...but I too am a huge fan of your illustrations...always demented and sooooo detailed...great stuff.
yeah bob can do detail and shit BUT its always the little things that make it for me. the cock of micks wrist and the slight squint of his eyes....thats the shit. i never comment on posters twice.....damn you straight to weiner hell robert
19X34 6 color silkscreen reacts to blacklight by the fine folks at D&L.
Thanks for the kind words everyone. I fucking love Electric Six. This was inspired by the new song "Vibrator" which you can download free from thier site and "The Citadel" which should be in your collection if you're a Stones fan.
I went too crazy with the detail (especially when picking the koji for the halo). One bit that I doubt anyone will notice is that I replaced the Secretary of Treasury's signature on the 100 dollar bill with Milton Berle's (Secretary of Long Dongs).
this has everything that's great about a Rob Jones poster. To see someone put this much into one poster is inspiring. I'd love to see E6's faces when they whip this out for the first time.
now that you mention it that would have been awesome. glow powder can be a pain in the ass to work with though. i like that his hand can hardly fit around that massive creature.
i could barely contain myself when i saw the file for this on the computer at d&l. steve was trying to do the whole guessing game thing with me.
like i said to him, 'that's a large eel for such a small man'. this is going in front of the can as soon as i have the money to frame it.
