simonsSend simons a message :   Nice. The color is great. I swish I could make more sense of it. I know people want to think this is "just" lowbrow art...But I am not in that camp. I think what Mr. Munn and others do is High Brow design, which is the same as art (Matisse's cutouts being a great example...of-course Warhol and Rosenquist make it abundantley clear). This piece looks cool, but doesn't reach the place that Jason reaches with the Books or the Pedro the Lion with the blood connecting the Lion to the Lamb. The Pixies, themselves having had so much to say about music and art, may be the reason. It is hard to capture such an austere subject. But, I bought the poster. I definately think it is a step in the direction and the command that Munn soon produces. Sorry for being so serios, so, what I feel is self promoting, but I want these things to be said so that the art form that the artist on Gigposters are creating reaches the bigger audience that will allow it to breathe in the Art World. That is the Art that is seriously considered for its cultural signifigance and the impact it has on the viewer.   2006-09-16 17:14:51
