22x32 screenprint. UV inks.
One of my favorites from last year. Based on the song 'A CASE OF NO WAY OUT' by the amazing band Quasi.
The night of the show in Houston, one of the first strong cold fronts was moving in. This poster was done for the Austin show (the next nite), but I took a stack and went to the show in my town...The show was at Rudyards, upstairs...only 50 folks or so...the big bay-windows were open and that cold front breeze was blowing through...on a cloudy night, complete with lightning and thunder...
I sat on the edge of the 'stage' right down by Sam's feet (he was sitting at his keyboard). One of the greatest nights of my life.
They loved the posters, we talked...even saw a really tripped out fight between a punk grrl and a supermodel looking chic.
Sam stopped in the middle of the song and jumped off the stage to break it up.
When he got back to the mike, he said...
' It always seems to make so much sense, at first. Throwing a punch. Calling a name...running planes into buildings...' He said it very seriously...This was about a month after Sept. 11th.
