Interesting comments. The atttempt was to NOT do a cliche piece so I avoided using Frank Frazzetta type axe wielding warrior imagery as was used on most of their early album covers. The band had no hand in it at all and only saw it at the gig, although they loved it and even requested copies.
Axes or hatchets cleave. Moll Flanders and Madame Bovary came to mind for me, not Lizzie Borden so I used "cleavage" in a different sense. Subliminal and not just a T&A reference. The club owners and publicist loved it too, and will be framing and displaying their 20" X 24" copy in the club.
