thanks denny. i wasnt really trying to show the light, more as just implying the light. and have the whte sides center the black. plus i wanted to keep it to one shape in the back ground for simplicity since i used a light typeface. i found out it didnt take too much to over power the type. thanks again.

Not too shabby. But, shouldn't the black area above the light come all the way across? And maybe down the right side to define the lighted area? Just a thought.
Anyway, very nice all the same!
