i know it is kinda late to add this comment, but as a designer, if we create a piece that disagrees with the artist(s) it represents, isn't that kinda failing as an artist? Our job is not solely to make a purely aesthetically pleasing poster, right?
Good poster.
I do feel bad for performers who are portrayed as they were decades ago, though. If I was Al green, this would depress me a little.
Of course, if I was Al Green, I would probably look at the world a bit differently.
i think it's great, bobby. good way to use a photo of him, but not make it the sole focal point.
i'm sure al green knows the difference between his audiences.
"I don't know him, but considering his background, I'm not so sure that he would "dig it"."
I know what you are getting at, but Al's always seemed to be pretty aware and cool with the sensuality in his music. Granted, maybe not "dig it" but definitely cool with it.
...would he? I'm not so sure.
Don't get me wrong, it's a fine looking poster, but I'm not so sure that this is the kind of image that Al Green would appreciate.
I don't know him, but considering his background, I'm not so sure that he would "dig it".
