Oh no! This is just a shame. A legendary performer in one of the most legendary venues of all time and this is the result? This is 2004, not 1988. This is not the Lovesexy tour. C'mon. If he only had a 48 hour turnaround, he should have spent 45 hours creating a better poster design. This is a dream gig to do a poster for. This just looks some some cliche design for a laminated backstage pass. As my good friend Prince would say..."Scandalous" You might as well do the 2004 David Bowie tour dressed like Ziggy Stardust.
Rex Ray did this one (not sure why it isnt showing up)

Turn-around time was 48 hours and guess it shows... this is not my favorite poster
Supposedly, the Fillmore now only hands out posters for shows that sell out. This one was a no-brainer as far as selling out, but for some other fine shows, like K'eb Mo' who was 19 shy of a sell out I'm told, there are no posters distributed.
Is that because they commission the art then don't print them? Or do they print them and NOT hand them out? Or they commisssion the art and sell them later?
AND are they really gigposters if they DO NOT in fact advertise the event, but are only given out AFTER sold out shows? How many do they print for each sold out show? Just enough for the audience and Fillmore and Band etc.? Jus' curious. Jus' askin'. Anybody know the answers to any/all of these questions?
Maybe this should be a forums topic.
What a waste og an opportunity. You've Mr. Freaky, Prince, playing at the Fillmore and all you can come up with is 20 year old imagery?!? The guy ain't doing purple rain anymore... :shaking:
Nice heart on the "I".... :yeak:
Pink, purple, flowers, frill, doilies, angels, script and a heart...
Great musician but maybe the dude ought to have changed his name to "princess" rather than that swishy thing...
