Show went really well despite a load of cables flaking out on me. I got away with it cos Kirstin supplies most of the sound from her keyboard (named Cynthia) and my hamfisted prodings seemed less bad.
That is us 4 gigs, 2 rehearsals and one CD into our 'career'!
Next week I go back to the 'day job' and tour as Thee Moths for a week - whoooo! :D
Yeah, it would have been great with a black background - problem is (and this happens with all my posters) I don't have a working printer on my PC and I hand draw everything in an A4 pad. To make the background black would have involved me sitting for a couple of hours with india ink and a brush and any mistakes would have fucked up the poster. It would look great but is rather tricky!
Cos I don't screenprint (all these are photocopies) I am unable to do layers of images - everything has to be do-able by hand on one page. I would love to be able to do Seripop-esque explosions of colour but it aint going to happen in the forseeable future.
Glad people like this though! I am looking forward to seeing how the city council reacts when I hand these over - they usually look at my posters with a great deal of confusion!
Thanks all!
Lipsick is playing tomorrow night in Dundee - it will be the first time I have played nothing but keyboards for a show.
You should check out the pictures that Kirstin from the band does in MS Paint - www.lipsick.co.uk
