Panic DOES get a lot of posters done without the venue or band knowing about it. I don't know if this one is one of them or not, so apologies in advance if this really isn't the place to post this. I just read the comments and thought I'd chime in.
Anyone selling posters in the parking lot with no commission, but using the band's name as a selling point for their art, is not doing anything to help the band at all. They aren't putting any money in the band's pocket, or helping to promote a show. It is a purely selfish act on the part of the artist, who is just furthering their own monetary or ego-driven goals, and they are directly competing with the band's merch booth.
There are a LOT of no commission posters, and a lot of images that were used as submissions but were not approved for use on this site.
Should they be archived here?
I'm not saying this is one of them, but Panic gets a shitload of unofficial posters done, and also more than one "official" poster for a show sometimes.
Drowning Creek and I both did an official one recently for the same show- theirs thru the band, mine thru the venue/promoter.
was this used by the venue for the event? the band? who's the client or is this a parking lot poster?
Here's the official poster: https://www.widespreadpanic.com/merchandise/WSPmerchandiseItem.asp?itemid=0470P
