FEAR on SNL: Yeah, you can even spot Ian McKaye in the crowd. Look for the bald dude.
Richie: Yes, but do you remember PAIN, the punk band fronted by Mr. Forsythe who tossed the guitar off a roof of a hotel to prove what "PAIN is all about"? Probably the following to the "success" of the first "punk" episode..
I like the live album the best.
Great poster, btw!
Lee Ving and FEAR also appeared on an episode of CHiPs where they were the evil punk rock band hellbent on ruining the Battle of the Bands and burning gown the club. In the end the CHiPs band won, led by Ponch. Wacky.
Posters like this are why I like rock posters. Big loud and abrassive. Fucking awesome.
FEAR is probably my favorite band ever.
Somewhere around here I have a drawing I did of Belushi in his black flag leather jacket. What year was that SNL? I must have been, like 12. Rollins and Mackaye and all those guys were in the mix, too.
Fear on SNL is a trip! It's just this big, dumb, phony spectacle that gets way, way out of hand.
"New York's all right if you like saxophones."
Fucking classic.
What was the Lee Ving flick where he was the roadie-kinda guy, with a chain around his neck, and they kept him in the trunk of a car...? I think his name was Animal or something to that effect... It was a lame ass 80's flick, but I cant remember the name and now I wanna see it again....
THIS IS THE GREATEST FEAR POSTER EVER!! Holy shit this rules!! A buddy of mine saw them in NYC a few years back and said there was an old skanky punk chick spewing the same type of shit to people. Classic.
