Ah...I remember the first time I saw The Flaming Lips. Blew my ears out for at least two weeks. There were pigs heads, lighter fluid, flames and lots of thick black smoke. A sign on the door said "warning upon entering you may receive hearing loss" I thought it was a joke. Nathan the drummer showed up with fresh t-shirts offa the press just in time to get on stage. They were this fucked up picture of a baby being born and they were printed all the way over the neckline. My shirt, ironically burned up at a party months later.
They played like a 15 min version of "One Million Billionth of a Millisecond on a Sunday Morning" and covered "School" by Nirvana. Three Ring Carcass opened and played "I did acid with Caroline" by Daniel Johnston. One of the best shows I've ever been too.,.
that's a creepy little dude in that thar drawering Burns...
