Nice shapes! I'm not sure the big black stripes work, though... it would have been cooler if you built up dark areas from just making those little lines. Just my $.02.

this required more patience than normal.
I've done exercises in my sketchbook where I fill up an entire page with nice lines of those little hatchmark patterns. Takes about 30 minutes. I listen to Miles Davis when I do it. It's calming.
