dv8rSend dv8r a message :   Sonic Brain Jam was a raucous San Francisco flava grunge band... the singer goes by the name Wilson Gil and did a country album recorded in Bakersfield awhile back also Vadge Moore from the Dwarves was in it as well...   2011-08-02 02:49:52

PlantweedSend Plantweed a message :   Joe appears on the first Earth EP. His solo Melvins LP sounds a lot like Earth.   2006-01-06 06:06:44
dv8rSend dv8r a message :   well , it would be safe to say that Joe was in the Earth project at the time no?

wezzburlesqueSend wezzburlesque a message :   Earth was and is Dylan Carlson's project. Joe Preston was just part of it early on. Thrones is Joe's ongoing project.   2006-01-06 04:16:13
dv8rSend dv8r a message :   Earth was Joe Preston's project... he joined the Melvins for a spell and then was asked to leave...Buzz told me he ripped him off or something...
Sonic Brain Jam were loud as fuck lower haightian SF scream rock...fixtures at the Chatterbox, but then Tony the singer dropped the sonic from the name, and then started to bill himself as Wilson Gil, a country dude outta Bakersfield...go figger...

8ballSend 8ball a message :   "Then I put on this movie 'Heavy Into Jeff'. All male cast. To be honest, at first I really couldn't get into it. Then suddenly I found it interesting, ....and then MORE interesting, and then extremely interesting, and then it wasn't so interesting. Then I felt embarassed, confused, depressed...
..then I was interested...VERRY interested...and then I...suddenly lost interest.."

Selector LopakaSend Selector Lopaka a message :   Uninteresting poster. Extremely interesting Nirvana show. It was their first show back in the States after a short Euro tour with L7. Grohl was firmly settled into his drum slot after joining earlier that fall. Jaws were dropped to say the least. I remember Novoselic saying they were nervous to be following the Holy Rollers. Ha! When curfew for the bar came, the promoter came on stage and said the band wanted to keep playing. The club was cleared, the bar was closed, and then the remaining 50 or so folks were let back in and treated to another 45 minutes of music. The only thing I remember about the Mudhoney show was local celebrity/freak El Steiner repeatedly stage diving, and Mark Arm exclaiming "El Steiner" after every dive.   2004-01-21 09:47:03
art chantrySend art chantry a message :   lisa designed the bleach cover and supefuzz big muff and was (for a time) art director of the rocket and at sub pop. she's the one who did nirvana's logo. she finally quit when nobody at sub pop woulf pay her invoices - they racked up quite an outstanding balance. after that , the only guy in town dumb enough to work for them on credit was me, and that's how i got involved doing stuff with subpop. by default and by stupidity.   2004-01-21 09:37:03
