yup... pass me my teeth will ya?
That's a fascinating story, Grandpa.
I saw the Cars open for the Clash roundabout 1979 or so, kind of a weird bill but at the time there wasn't much a distinction re punk/new wave.
I like Steel Pole Bath Tub's Cars covers.
I don't know...the first Cars record came out in '78 and it's damn near flawless.
i remember waaay back when the cars were actually pretty cool. then, in the latre 70's, rolling stone put them on the cover as "the best new band of the year". from that point on, they became a joke. straight to hell.
The Good Rats still play Long Island all the time. I've never seen them however.
i have no idea why I just looked this up, but 1977 seems to be the best guess according to this site: http://www.bostongroupienews.com/GigList1977.htm
i think this is from around 1977. maybe 1976.
I'm listening to "Bye bye Love" right now. They do indeed rock.
I love the Cars. The older stuff of course.
I would just like to state that "The RAT" is aptly named, I believe something was nibbling at my feet last time I was there.
