Redrawing half-tones... I'm sure I've done this on more than one occasion over the years. What fun.
I plan to do more redrawing of half-tones when they eventually stuff me in the loony bin.

yeah, i've got stacks of these stashed away. frankly, you are the first person to ever ask. this is also the first time anybody (outside of the initial use by the label and bands) that anybody has been remotely interested in these posters.

actually, none of these had "live on stage" on them. i put that in. remember these are "collages". i created the bulk of this stuff myself by hand.
in fact a great deal of this stuff i actually drew myself. for instance the headline "type/logos" were all drawn by me. in fact many of the coarse halftoned imagery was re-drawn (by hand) and put together to creat totally new images. so, don't get the idea i just dropped in band names into existing admats. it was much complicated than that.
but not all of it was.

the only reason i managed to put these particular ones up here was because estrus also made postcard versions of these particular posters (but not all 40 of them). so, i was able to put these on my flatbed scanner and post them.
that's also why they have halftone dots and moire scuzz - the postcards were 4-color scans of the original posters.

this whole lot of posters i put up are old tour poster that i was doing for estrus bands over a period of about 7 years. for a long time we had a printer who would do a couple of colors cheap - so long as he didn't have to do film. so, i whipped these together as film - each piece was a different primary and we printed in process colrs. cheap/quick/easy/no hassle work.
i think i did close to 40 of these things. the style was collaged "admats" stuff from old crummy b-movie admats tthat i got from mike vraney at something weird. it became an effective and distinct look for estrus tour posters. i took bits and pieces from z-movies and basically put together my own ads.
plantweed should be able to identify most of these images and what movies they came from.
if i can trip across more of them in my stuff, i'll post them. but don't hold your breathe.
if i ever buy a digital camera, i'll swamp this site with color work i've done over the last 30 years.
