some of these big historical dudes are nuts. lyndon johnson used to confer with his cabinet while taking a shit... with the door of the john OPEN. passive-aggressive bastard. uh, sorry to get off topic.
actually..in 1913 he had to attack several hundred Mexican Rebels in Chihuaha.so he took a Cadilaac and a Packard and added some iron plate and a machine gun to them and used them to raid the town and capture the leaders. first use of a motorized vbehicle by the US in combat.
cool. he also had really bad teeth. he was an avid polo player and a series of concussions are what historians think drove him a little batty after a while.
His first big career setback was in the early 20's...he formed the first armor training school and designed a bizaare( yet very functional) tank drivers uniform that everyone thought lookd weird and had his photo taken in it and got clowned big time. Only Pershing''s influence kept him going.
He gave extravagant parties and took his Negro Manservant to war with him after 'making him' a seargent, even though he was not in the military.
Wekk read in the classics Patton would often ponitficate on his belief he was a Roman General re-ncarnated and his attack on the Germans was a re-run of a previous life.
I have like 4 Patton Bios. he was a total over-achiever..apparentley his father was like a super-man and Patton always tried to one up him. he also had a squeaky voice. Patton was ultra-wealthy..the wealthiest general we ever had.
was the first guy to use motor vehicles in warfare against Mexico in 1913...the Villa border raids.
Served under Pershing.
Great tactician.
a friend of mine used to work at one of those christian book/magazine publishers, he pinched a christian rock tape and gave it to me for christmas; sacred warrior they were called, satan definitely wins the fight when it comes to rock is all i can say!
i've got one of those spire comics, its called "the cross and the switchblade"! i din't know it was a jesus comic, i was a kid and the cover looked cool, honest, there was a fight just about to beak out and i thought it looked action packed. :-(
2nd and Virginia. The smallest store ever built, eh? You could get approximately 2.5 people in that store... or TAD.
These aren't on actual newsprint, it's just a very thin (read: crappy) offset stock. But yeah, a lot folks use newsprint up here. It's just so cheap.
i really regret introducing 'newsprint posters' to the seattle scene. they were really cheap to print, so clients (cheap bastards) loved 'em, but, maaaan, a lot of great work has rotted away...
I bought my 2 copies of this when I was living in Seattle. I bought em at the Sub-Pop store on 2nd (?)...cant remember...it was just a few blocks up from the water.
yes-SP did like 'newsprint' ones and I did a small edition on 140 rag-and no, I don't have but 1.
they where,as you can imagine, a popular item. I see them on ebay for like 50 bux all the time.
