dan, this is super-nice. actually one of your best yet, i think. very harmonious colors. and that flyswatter book is really cool. i was fipping through that a few months ago.
That work IS amazing. The "inexplicable flyswatter" catalog/CD/DVD is beautiful (Check out Atavistic's web site to see if there are any more in print). My wife and I had the pleasure of helping our friend John Corbett proof the catalog ..on our dining room table. Like 60 amazing drawings in my house. Peter rules. Chicago musicians have had an enormous and energetic influence on him and his playing.
wow... that's next week! Brotzman is very cool guy / amazing musician. Met him during his show of early 60s fluxus art this year in Chicago. A few weeks later I was in New Orleans and was pleasantly surprised to find he was playing in this tiny club on the outskirts of french quarter with this very line-up.Terrific poster as always Dan!!
hell yeah! so did you print yellow-red-brown-yellow?
I have been mixing in lots of Gel medium with the paint lately...makes the color look like a melted jolly rancher...love it!
Hey Mark, I overprinted the yellow/gold mixture. The metallic gold ink is pretty thin. I always thin it more with a standard issue Mat Daly amount of water. I would like to start mixing varnish into it like he does on his shit.
this is very cool
i just looked thru your other posters and i realized i had forgotten how good they all were.
amazing, you could say. i like the different approach to layout on this one, name right thru the middle of the page, some info on the top, some on the bottom, stuff i never would have tried. but now i will.
