from what i recall from an interviu w/ crumb bobka, in his early work (mid to late 60s) he not only didnt use whiteout, he didnt even pencil in first. he just inked directly. he didnt know about penciling. later on he did, and also using whiteout to correct shit.
cool man, thanks.
He's also a reason I go by DWITT in my work. I thought R. Crumb always sounded cool, so instead of signing Witt, it's "D"Witt.
Yep, I'm a dork, and a copy-cat.
no shit. I've always wanted to write him a letter. Though it would proably end up being a crazy self-potrait drawing.
His work has always made me jealous. I just can't draw like that.
I met Crumb. He is EXACTLY the wat he portrays himself in his comics. My tats scared the fuck out of him. I got his address in France if ya want to rite him a fan letter.
Any inker worth his salt uses white-out.
It's called reverse inking.
Richie, lemme guess, yer gonna tell me that Art's pencils dont have erasers either...?
heh
i'm not a massive Coop fan, but this has always been one of my favorite posters - one of the big prints is in the studio where my gf gets ink.
(and i'm catholic too!) :-D
