Thanks fer the props on the Pennywise poster - since the site won't let me post a reply on it, I'll post it here.
As far as the Coop thing goes, it's cool by me. I've been inking pinups and hand-lettering long before I knew who he was. Once I did become aware of his stuff it certainly influenced me. I ink with a brush, a lot of same subject matter, etc. so there's bound to be similaritys and I'm fine with that. I figure if a few make Coop comparisons, then I'm slingin' a pretty fair line....?
As far as 'irony' goes, there's none going on with the Pennywise poster. It's a five-minute idea that I had to get done fast. I can live with it.
did not see this the first time around. amazing....you've encompassed most of my boyhood perversions into one handy package. great job mate. i wish i would have thought of the racing stripped bikini/underwear.
As I stated in one of the forums, I can't get the shape of glasses right. To get this all in perspective freehand so fucking perfect and big (I lose sight on perspective when I draw larger) is quite a feat. Kudos.
Thanks folks. The illo is 26" x 37" - not traced. It took me 14 scans to get it into the computer. Text is all by hand, 'cept for the small stuff at the bottom.
Christ, I was kidding. I fucking wish I could draw a car this well. I can barely follow the "how-to's" in CarToons. Even if he fucking traced it from a photo, it's a skillful rendering beyond my ken.
I say Zelig's joking...this works GREAT! Goddamn! As far as the text goes, my only complaint is the lineage but I'm sure if you saw the poster in person, you'd forget all about that.
It's close to greatness... but I agree with Zelig... the type is definitely good... but not as good as the rest (but close... so close). Still... this would DEFINITELY catch my eye... very nice!
Don Prudohm was my idol as a kid. The side effect of having a Dad who drove race cars.
This is so bad ass i can't even handle it. The car is like...totaly perfect.
