Thanks for comments guys & girls... SLAYER is playing the day before HOT WATER MUSIC here in Austin...so in an attempt "mess" with the metal/emo/backpack/????/kids (are 30 year-olds technically "kids" anymore?)...I threw this poster together. AND YES someone NEEDS to make an emo-as-fuck SLAYER poster. Maybe some pastel Mondrian squares, a sparrow on a wire, perhaps a silhouette of a newlywed couple walking on a sunset beach or picking daisies on a Sunday afternoon...?
...Hmmm, maybe next time...

Gainsville bands have a penchant for ripping off slayer graphics - I remember less than jake doing it too. My guess is it's a florida metal thing. Kerry King is emo, he likes puppys.

if i was a metal kid and got tricked into going to this show i would definitely reconsider my next urge to huff a trashbag of freon or autograde nitrous.
i would also look like an idiot at the show.

Well if I was a metal kid and got tricked into going to this show because of the poster id be pissed. I think that the point size of the HWM should have been cut in half and it actually spelled out. No problem with the logo in the pentagram. but thats just me, I still like the poster.

Well alot of those screamo bands are clearly influenced by metal so it kind of works that a designer might point to that. I think so anyway.
I don't really like the Hot Water Music logo right in the middle of the pentagram though. I think it would have worked fine without that.
