the ny scene was always cool and hipper-than-thou. basically elitist snobs. they wouldn't let me in the door. i've always been "uncool'.
no, the only option i had was to stay put and make it work out of sheer will power and stubborn tenacity.
it worked out ok.

oh, i thought about it a lot. i even tried moving to london (but they kicked me out).
in the end, i stayed and just hunkered in and created my own market. no other choice. i was (and am) unemployable.

1979. there was an old closed-down movie theater in edmonds washington (25 miles north of seattle) that was rented by the manager of the cowboys and the heats. the guy would show a movie and then the bands would play. all ages.
it lasted about a month before the locals closed it down because it was a "bad" influence on christian youth...
