Plagerism? You can't plagerise an idea that has been used over and over. The name of the song Maynard is referenceing is "It's Raining," and this is a damn good image to represent that line.
Sometimes we just have the same ideas as others.
Allrighty then... here we go.
This is not intentionally "stolen" concept. It's inspired by the lyric "it doesn't only rain on you" from a song by Quasi. I probably did see that Karate one at some point. That and a hundred other similar designs. Who knows. Before you call someone a plagiarist Zack, you should ask them about it in private. Unfounded public slander is really fucking uncool.
Yes, that's multi-colored glitter.
See ya there Goetting. Should be a cool show.
Ya i don't mean to crap on the design either, cuz if i'd never seen anything like it, i'd be like, "woah, this is cool," but seriously, there have been SO MANY posters with this type of imagery. And i don't like the noise in the name either. But Maynard, you truly rule, dude, don't let it bum you out.
Even I'll admit this looks kinda bad because of the similar colors, but it is suggesting something different than the Karate one. If you look around you will find all sorts of images just of umbrella sillouetes and styled raindrops. As far as the rain coming from inside the umbrella, it's one of those ideas people come up with again and again even though they may have never seen it used before. Personally, as a gag, I have seen it in some old BW shorts (I want to say 3 Stooges, water was leaking into the umbrella beforehand), Benny Hill, and on a few panels of Lil Abner (Sorrowful Jones was involved).
what? this?

i don't think the umbrella/rain imagery is particularly new, so i wouldn't get yer panties in a bunch. was this screened? if so, how was the 'tv fuzz' acheived?
