Given the amount of time I had to do this, I'm pleased with how it turned out. It was an adventure. They look WAY cooler in person. The client loved them. Saying "These are WAY cooler than I expected."
I didn't even know Steve did this. I heard about it after the fact. It was a rush job, he didn't even call me or Nate, he designed it and printed it himself that evening.
I think he did a fine job.
I wouldn't sweat the Adobe Woodtype. I used them myself on my John Mayer poster. It was a quick solution to a rush job...in hindsight I probably should have taken a few extra minutes and found something else. BUT, remember... to other designers it may be immediately recognizable... but most of the general public would have no clue. And that's ultimately who matters right?
THis is super awesome but I'm going to criticize this for something that I'm all too guilty of.. using adobe woodtype ornaments. it's too easily identified. like house fonts. it's so hard not to use them. so hard.
