great (absolutely wonderful) image, but the type is pretty pedestrian. i'd have avoided a computer typeface like that and created my own stuff to go better with the image. it ends up clashing with the texture of the image above it. those identical "distressed o's" really go dead in the water and all of those caps make it look like some sort of "kroy" lettering.
Skulls that are alive are scary. Skulls with biker hats are scary. Skulls with WW1 helmets are scary. Not really I guess but those of us that draw a lot of skulls have probably been drawing them since we were 10 years old and have never gotten over it. My teachers used to want to talk to my parents about the amount of skulls I drew.
alright. wasn't sure if this was too metal looking. i swore to myself i'd never draw skulls cause i don't find them scary looking - i just don't think there's anything dangerous about them. however i have been reading Howard Zinn's People's History and there's a quote in there like
"the nature of modern warfare is such that by a ratio of 10 to 1 the victims are civilians." that stuck in my head and this image came into my mind.
i know: thats a great story. point is i guess, read Howard Zinn cause he is the one that kicks ass.
